Pretty In Polish.. Nails Of The Moment

Lincoln Park After Dark

I just got my acrylics off yesterday which I wanted to do so I could start wearing my fall/winter polishes.

I'm sure everyone has seen/used Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI but it is a new colour to me and I know why everyone loves it. It's a dark gorgeous purple, looks almost black. Great for fall and winter. Two coats and a top coat and it's looking pretty great.

My Dream Purse

Chanel Medallion

This bag is part of the Classic collection and is listed as the Medium Bag on the Chanel website. I have loved this bag ever since seeing a photo of Lauren Conrad wearing it a few years ago. I have always loves handbags. In all price ranges . I am currently using a $20.00 Aldo bag that I got on sale. I have gotten a few of my ideal higher end purses but Chanel to me would be the top, best of the best.

I think everyone has a "dream" item. A car, home, shoes, dress etc. I have seen this bag in person. It was just as nice as I thought it would be. It is available in various colours but my choice is black. I don't know that I'll ever own this bag, but just in case I've saved a nice spot in my closet for it. What is your dream item?

You Smell Nice #2

Prada Candy

I knew I would love this after first reading the description. I love sweet, gourmand scents and if I see the words vanilla or caramel I am usually intrigued. Plus it's made by Prada and the bottle is beautiful.

The Scent: A sweet and feminine scent, combining high quality ingredients in excess. Described as being a new, different side to the Prada fragrance family. Lovely and sweet but not too overpowering or heavy.

Notes: White Musks, Benzoin, Caramel, Vanilla

I purchased the gift set from The Bay that came with a 50 ml Perfume, a 75 ml body lotion, and a mini 7ml perfume.

You can also buy the perfume on its own in the 50 or 100 ml size as well as Candy scrub and shower gel.

Product I Must Use Everyday-Sunscreen

Use Sunscreen Daily

I've worn sunscreen for as long as I can remember but I got really serious about wearing it everyday when I was 16. I was reading Teen Vogue magazine (spring 2001 with Katie Holmes on the cover) and there was an article on Sun damage. The article had a lot of information about the harmful effects of tanning/unprotected sun exposure. It discussed skin cancer, and showed photos of girls under the UV camera and the sun damage they had on their skin. Since reading it I have worn sunscreen of at least 30 everyday and a higher one in the summer. I could not find a copy of the article online.

Look for a sunscreen that has both UVA/UVB protection (to protect against premature aging of the skin and burning). For everyday facial use, I use Neutrogena Moisture oil free SPF 30 (Sun protection factor). It's a daily facial moisturizer with UVA/UVB sun protection. It is non greasy and doesn't clog pores. Another daily one I like is Olay complete.

For skin or on my face in the summer, I am a big wearer of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. You can get it in a lot of spf's starting at 30. It's great because it's light and non greasy.

I'm not saying I never go in the sun. I love the beach and the pool. I just always remember to apply and bring my sunscreen. All thanks to that Teen Vogue article.

Everyone Loves Samples

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula

I got a sample of this moisturizer in the Latest Elle magazine (with Emma Watson on the cover) so I thought I would try it out.

This product has Vitamin E and says it softens, smoothes and relieves dry skin. It is supposed to also help with unwanted scars and stretch marks.

My thoughts: It smells amazing, like cocoa and is very moisturizing without feeling greasy which I really like. The smells stays for a long time without being overpowering. I'm not sure about it helping with scars yet, but I think I will pick some of this up if I see it in stores. Paraben free.

Cool Find

Leopard Duct Tape

I was at Walmart the other day picking up regular duct tape with my husband and I saw it: Leopard duct tape! There was also zebra and many others prints. Very cool! I don't really use duct tape myself but I had to get this as I am a big fan of unique leopard printed items. The cost was around $5.00 and it's made by the The Duck Brand.

You can of course use this for any job you would use duct tape for. I used mine as a decoration tool, lining the tape on the bottom of my makeup drawers.

Try It At Home

Nescafe Vanilla Cappuccino



If you like cappuccinos I would definitely pick this up next time you are at the grocery store. It has 80 calories per serving (they also have a cappuccino skinny, which is only 40 calories per serving, but I preferred the vanilla. The skinny tastes too coffee for me). The price is around $4.99 and you get 8 sachets.

Directions: Mix one sachet with 150ml of water and stir vigorously. Sweeten if desired.



I did not need to sweeten mine, but you could add a little vanilla syrup if you like a sweeter taste, or top it off with some whipped cream. Overall it's a yummy drink for at home without a lot of calories.

I was at the mall today and I passed by The Body Shop and noticed something I wanted to add to my fall items. New Spiced Pumpkin bath and shower gel. It is unique because it was actually customer created by Stephie from the USA.


It smells like spicy pumpkin pie and was $8 Canadian.




I also picked up a Almond Hand & Nail Cream which was $10 Canadian. It smells sweet and is really moisturizing.

Festive Little Find

R.I.P Fantasy Makers Nail Color from the creators of Wet n Wild

I was drawn to these polishes because of the cute little R.I.P funky packaging but upon closer look I found these two colours were ones that I would enjoy wearing. And for only $3.99 each at the drugstore I thought they were worth a try. The line also has makeup and false eyelashes.

The colours I purchased are 12422 Black Magic (top) and 12420 Purple Potion (below).

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Eyes Waterproof eyeliner pencil

The shade I have is 3L which is a Navy Blue. I was looking for a long wearing navy eyeliner that wouldn't smudge or fade away. I already loved MAKE UP FOR EVER HD foundation and their smoky lash mascara so I decided to try the Aqua eyes. It really does last all day and doesn't smudge. I mostly wear it on the waterline and have not had any issues. I am excited to try other colours.

Fall Together Now!

Easing into the fall season can be a little tough. Being a big summer fan myself I really don't look forward to the changing weather and leaves. However this year I seem to have a new appreciation (or maybe it's because I really have no say in the changing seasons..). You Smell Nice

New Perfume Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift.

I just recently received this as a gift from my husband. He went after work and picked me up a bottle and had them wrap it for me. It was a great surprise. I have a lot of perfume (and yet keep adding more haha) but this is the one I keep reaching for.

The Scent: Inspired by lyrics from the song "Enchanted" from Taylor's Album, this beautiful scent is fruity and sweet, described as a gourmand scent.

Notes: Freesia, Green Tea, Apple Blossom, Raspberry, Dewberry,Vanilla, Honeysuckle, White Hibiscus, Amber, Sandalwood, and Peach.

Available in October in 50 and 100 ml sizes and and I've read there will be some body products available as well, I have seen the scented shower gel. I received the 100 ml size and it was around $78.00 Canadian. I think this scent is really great for anytime of the day.
